Dopey Dick is 40!
2017, Derry Londonderry, Exhibition, Limited Edition, Print
/

An exhibition marking the 40th anniversary of ‘Dopey Dick’ getting lost trying to find salmon in the River Foyle. Now living in the Hebrides, Dopey Dick has been identified and is known locally as ‘Comet’. A special celebration for The Edge of Things with folded party hats, Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture played by Sophie Donan on a piano from the nearby Playhouse Theatre, live webcam projections from the West Coast of Scotland, Teknopeasant aka Conor O’Kane reading his Dopey Dick Triptych poem, hydrophonic recordings from the River Foyle, alongside ephemera and virtual research and a special River Foyle tray bake and ginger beer to remember this venerable visitor.
